This course goes beyond traditional diversity approaches, focusing on the application of scientific thinking to explore diversity and polarizing topics. It examines how diversity intersects with psychological processes at individual, interpersonal, and global levels. Key questions addressed include: what is diversity? How do race, nationality, and religion shape individuals and relationships? How does diversity impact perceptions of fairness, justice, and social change? Can respect for diversity foster peace and positive change? A new focus of this course is diversity and artificial intelligence (AI), including an exploration of how AI may address diversity topics as it has an ever more global impact. Through evidence-based insights and thought-provoking discussions, students gain a deeper understanding of how diversity influences individuals, relationships, and society.
