Psychopaths and Psychopathy

Ellsworth Fersch is a forensic psychologist. For many years, he has taught large lecture and smaller discussion courses in psychology, law, criminology, ethics, and the professions at the Harvard Extension and Summer Schools, the Harvard Medical School, Harvard College, and at other nearby colleges and universities. He has served as an academic and co-curricular adviser at Harvard College. He is both a licensed attorney and a licensed psychologist in Massachusetts. In 1996, he received the Petra T. Shattuck Excellence in Teaching Award, and in 2004 he was honored for twenty-five years of teaching in Extension. He retired from decades of practice as a director of court clinics in Massachusetts where he evaluated and treated court-involved individuals and families, and consulted with legal and psychological practioners. He has continued to teach regularly throughout the year. Most recently he has also led seminars in the Harvard Interfaculty Initiative on Mind Brain and Behavior.
