Negotiation and Organizational Conflict Resolution

Dr. Maurie Kelly has over thirty years of professional experience working with and developing solutions for a wide range of organizations. She holds a PhD in organizational development, a master of information science, and a degree in history. Kelly has been an instructor at Harvard Extension School for many years teaching courses in negotiation, advanced negotiation, and sustainability. In 2019, she won the Harvard University Joanne Fussa Distinguished Teaching Award. Kelly works with the Harvard Professional and Executive Development program teaching seminars in negotiation skills, advanced negotiations, and custom programs for corporations and organizations across many sectors including automotive, chemical engineering, health, technology, and aviation. Kelly also works at Penn State University where she teaches international business, sustainability, and complex negotiations. At Penn State, she also teaches seminars in authentic leadership, emerging leaders, and in the Smeal-Hershey Medical Center Leadership Academy. Through her research at Penn State she has worked on initiatives with the US Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the US Department of State, the Pennsylvania Governor's Office of Administration, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, American Fisheries Society, the US Geological Survey, the City of Chicago, the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, H.O. Smith Botanical Gardens, Good Sun, Equitrans, and ESRI. She served on the board of advisors for Good Sun, an organization that engages with communities to develop and deploy energy solutions in the US and around the world in countries such as Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya. Kelly has served on government advisory boards and committees across multiple government administrations.
