George T. Kosar is the associate vice president of development at The Everglades Foundation. He previously worked as the assistant vice president of institutional partnerships at Georgetown University; director of foundation relations at Boston University; associate director of corporate and foundation relations at Tufts University's Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy; and major gifts officer for the Harvard Kennedy School, where he raised funds from corporate chief executive officers (CEOs) and other private sector leaders. His higher education work has included strategic marketing, distance learning management, and admissions. Kosar is an associate of the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University. His research and publications focus on the Russian Revolution of 1917-1918 and the life of Thomas Whittemore, professor, archaeologist, humanitarian, and cultural preservationist. Kosar was a graduate lecturer in Northeastern University's College of Professional Studies and has taught philanthropy and fundraising at the Fulbright International Summer Institute in Bulgaria and at Harvard University's Dumbarton Oaks. Kosar has also taught at Bentley College, Tufts University, Brandeis University, and Emerson College. He has a BA in Russian studies from the University of Virginia, an MA in history from Boston College, and a PhD in comparative history from Brandeis University.
