Foundations of Comparative Politics

Matt Reichert is a preceptor in social studies at Harvard University, where he teaches courses on research methods and health politics. His research in comparative politics and history asks how states shape beliefs about national identity. He seeks to understand the role that Soviet writers, artists, professors, and other creative professionals played in fomenting the nationalist mobilizations that collapsed the USSR. Reichert also works in public health with partners at Boston Medical Center, where his research focus on racial disparities in health and healthcare provision. He earned a BA from Boston University in 2012, an MA from the University of Chicago in 2013, and a PhD from Harvard University in 2022.
