Far-right political movements have always existed, but in recent years the advent of social media has allowed like-minded individuals and groups to organize as never before, frequently across state boundaries. This course surveys the landscape of far-right movements in Europe and the United States and especially considers the transnational networks that these movements have established. In this course, students read both theory and examples of far-right literature to better understand the existence of this phenomenon and the implications it has for democracy.
