Change is the new norm and global organizations must adapt to increasingly dynamic and complex environments. A thorough understanding of agile techniques and methodologies equips professionals with the skills, knowledge, and tools to ensure successful project delivery, realize benefits, meet deadlines, and enhance team efficiency. In this course, students learn to distinguish between agile and waterfall project management methodologies, understanding when each approach is most appropriate. They also explore how agile methods are used to respond effectively to evolving stakeholder requirements. The course covers essential project management skills and best practices for leading agile teams and delivering effective solutions. Students delve into agile project management principles and practices, including self-organizing teams, project management roles, adaptive planning, value-driven delivery, stakeholder engagement, problem detection and resolution, sprint execution, and retrospective analysis. Current trends and best practices are examined through case studies to uncover successful techniques in the field. Through team exercises, students use the scrum framework to gain hands-on experience in applying agile methodologies to real-world projects. This is an entry-level course requiring no prior knowledge of project management, agile, or technical/software experience. This course is designed for students new to project management who want a clear, practical introduction to agile principles without technical expertise. It is also well-suited for individuals exploring careers in project leadership who are seeking a strong foundational skill set. Whether new to project management or experienced, this course brings agile principles to life by allowing students to practice key skills and facilitation techniques in a collaborative, team-based setting.
