Neurobiology

Dr. Egzona Morina holds a PhD in neuroscience from University College London and a master's in neuroscience and education from Columbia University. Her research interests lie in environmental neuroscience. She is the principal investigator of the environmental neuroscience research incubator in Boston, where she uses tools like EEG to measure brain activity in various environmental conditions. Through interdisciplinary research and education, Morina aims to explore how environmental factors impact brain health and cognition, making complex scientific concepts accessible and engaging for students.

Ariel Hairston completed her bachelor of science in neuroscience at New York University (NYU). While engaged in undergraduate studies, she completed research focused on the anatomical correlates of the integration of ongoing sensory processing with past information stored as memories. Following her undergraduate studies, Hairston worked as a research associate at the Skirball Institute at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. There she completed work characterising the role of a novel protein in drosophila neural development. During this time, she also completed a master's in biochemistry and molecular biology from Pace University. As a current PhD candidate in the Fishell Lab at Harvard Medical School, Hairston is engaged in a number of projects which seek to understand the molecular and circuit mechanisms that drive the late development and maturation of cortical interneurons.
