Improvisational Acting

John Kuntz is an award-winning playwright, actor, director, and solo performer. He is the author of over fifteen full-length plays, including Necessary Monsters, The Hotel Nepenthe, Starfuckers, The Annotated History of the American Muskrat, Sing Me To Sleep, and The Salt Girl. As an actor, he has appeared with The Huntington Theatre Company, the American Repertory Theater (ART), Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, and Speakeasy Stage Company. He is the recipient of five Elliot Norton Awards, two Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards, a New York International Fringe Festival Award, a 2015 Mass Cultural Council (MCC) Fellowship Award in dramatic writing, and the Michael Kanin & Paula Vogel National Playwrighting Awards. He is a lecturer in Theater, Dance & Media at Harvard University and is an associate professor of theater at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
