This course explores the intersections of leadership, gender, and global trends with a particular focus on women's leadership. Students examine the challenges and opportunities women face as leaders in various cultural, economic, and political contexts as they study contemporary opportunities and challenges facing women in the workplace. At the same time, students assess their own leadership styles in preparation for future careers. The course incorporates theoretical frameworks, case studies, and practical applications to develop a comprehensive understanding of global women's leadership in a modern context. Through innovative learning labs, students see how the theories learned in class apply in practice. Each lab features guest speakers, including notable senior leaders, Harvard alumni, and other guests designed to immerse students in the content for a thorough understanding of how these issues may affect their careers. Guest speakers are supplemented by a variety of hands-on activities and self-assessments, so that students can better understand their own capacity and exploration of leadership. This course welcomes all students, regardless of gender identification, who seek a greater understanding of the role of gender in a global work context. Participants can expect to be joined by students from countries around the globe, leading to rich classroom discussions and outstanding networking opportunities.
