Getting Started on Course Registration
Courses are offered during fall, January, spring, and summer terms. When registration is open for a course that interests you, the “Register Now” button on the course page will direct you to our DCE Course Search and Registration system. There, you can view full course details and begin the enrollment process.
Your first step: Create your student account.
Setting up your MyDCE student account will enable you to log into the DCE Course Search and Registration system to add courses to your registration cart and complete the registration steps. You’ll first be prompted to create a DCEKey.

What is Harvard DCE?
The Harvard Division of Continuing Education (DCE) is a division of Harvard University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences, serving lifelong learners from high school to retirement. DCE offers online courses, degrees, and certificates to working professionals through Harvard Extension School. The Harvard Summer School provides college programs for high school students, and for-credit courses for college students and adult course takers. DCE also encompasses Professional & Executive Development and the Harvard Institute for Learning in Retirement.
When are courses offered?
Harvard Extension School courses run during 15-week fall and spring terms, and a 3-week January session. Learn more about taking a course.
Harvard Summer School courses run during sessions spanning 3, 4, or 7 weeks from June to August. Learn more about courses for college students and adults.
Do I have to apply to take courses?
Courses are open enrollment. You only need to meet enrollment requirements to register. There is no application process.
Some select programs at DCE have an admissions process, including degree programs and the Premedical Program at Harvard Extension School, as well as summer college programs for high school students.
I’m Interested in starting an Extension School master’s or bachelor’s degree program. How do I confirm my eligibility and determine which courses to enroll in first?
