Come to Harvard University for an experience where students engage with industry leaders during visits to local incubators, accelerators, and companies, as well as academic research departments and institutions. The course focuses on the following questions: how did Kendall Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts, evolve from a salt marsh to become the epicenter of the biotechnology world? Why is Genetown a thriving hotbed for innovation and drug development? And where is the next Kendall Square?

Week one: Monday and Wednesday, June 22-24, 6:30-9:30 pm Eastern time, either on campus or via live attendance web conference.
Week two: Monday-Thursday, June 29-July 2, 10 am-5 pm, on campus.
Week three: Monday and Wednesday, July 6-8, 6:30-9:30 pm Eastern time, either on campus or via live attendance web conference.

Students attending on F-1 visas must attend all course meetings on campus.

Prerequisites

Students must have earned a B or higher grade in the Harvard Extension School course BIOT E-100 and either BIOS S-200 or BIOT S-200 in order to enroll in this course.

Notes

Not open to Secondary School Program students. Students attending on F-1 visas must attend all course meetings on campus. Harvard Summer School housing is available for the full three weeks for students who wish to remain on campus (one-week housing is not available on campus).
