Principles of Economics: Macroeconomics

Tanseli Savaser is an assistant professor of economics at Vassar College. Her field of specialization is empirical finance. She works on topics that are at the intersection of macroeconomics and finance. Her previous research examines the effects of macroeconomic news on high-frequency exchange rate movements. More recently, Savaser focuses on the interplay between macroeconomic conditions and the risk-taking consequences of managerial compensation. She holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Bogazici University and a PhD in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University. Prior to joining the Vassar College faculty, Savaser worked as a research associate for Moody's Investors Services and taught graduate and undergraduate courses at various institutions including Harvard University, Williams College, and Bilkent University. She has published her work in academic journals including Review of Finance and the Journal of Banking and Finance.
