Cindy Joyce has taught at Harvard Extension School (HES) since 2019 and is a two-time recipient of the Dean’s Commendation for Excellence in Teaching. She is the founder of Pillar Search & HR Consulting, a boutique firm that specializes in executive search and recruiting and human resources consulting for exceptional nonprofits and mission-driven organizations. Based in Boston, Pillar was founded in 2015 and works on the local and national level. Recent clients have included Building Futures, Jewish Vocational Services, Planned Parenthood, Schooner Adventure, Southern Vermont Arts Center, and Volunteer Lawyer's Project. Her volunteer roles currently include board member of Revels, a performing arts organization in greater Boston, and philanthropy chair with the Regis College Alumni Association. Past volunteer roles have included multiple leadership roles with the Junior League of Boston, board member of the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, and former co-chair of the Financial Services Human Resources affinity group. In addition to her role with HES, Joyce is an instructor at eCornell, the online learning platform of Cornell University. She earned her MA in organizational development from Lesley University and a BA in psychology from Regis College. She is also a certified diversity recruiter.
