The rise of mobile-first technology in the post-PC era has underscored the critical role of mobile geospatial information systems (GIS). Mobile GIS has transformed the way geospatial data is collected, visualized, analyzed, and shared, making it indispensable to enterprise operations across industries. With location-aware capabilities and widespread adoption, mobile platforms have become the primary interface for enterprise GIS, driving business decisions and operational efficiencies. While consumer applications like Google Maps, Waze, and Zillow have familiarized the public with basic GIS functions, this course focuses on enterprise mobile GIS, which offers far more powerful capabilities. Through a no-code/low-code approach, students gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge mobile GIS technologies, enabling them to build practical solutions for real-world applications. Topics include online and offline spatial data visualization, field data collection, location sharing, workforce coordination, and seamless integration with enterprise workflows. This course provides a comprehensive exploration of Esri's mobile GIS ecosystem, including native applications such as ArcGIS Survey123, Field Maps, and QuickCapture, as well as browser-based tools like ArcGIS Dashboards and Experience Builder. Students also have the opportunity to enhance their solutions with Arcade scripting, Webhooks, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and ArcGIS Mobile SDKs. Additionally, the course explores emerging technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and artificial intelligence (AI) within the context of mobile GIS. Whether you aim to expand your GIS expertise or develop enterprise solutions, this course provides the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving mobile GIS landscape.
