Business Analysis and Valuation

Dr. Surjit Tinaikar is an associate professor in the department of accounting and finance at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. He received his doctorate in business administration from the University of Toronto and an MS in finance from Boston College. He is a chartered financial analyst (CFA) and has held executive positions in the area of financial markets regulation. His research focuses on fundamentals valuation, quant-based investment strategies, and financial reporting. His current research is based on using machine learning algorithms to consume financial reports that can be used to predict future stock returns. He has published his research in various scholarly journals and presented his work at major academic and industry conferences both internationally and in the United States. His academic experience includes nearly fifteen years of teaching advanced finance and accounting courses in universities across the country.
