Advanced TV Writing: Comedy Sketch Writing

As an Emmy Award-winning comedian, writer, and producer, Hugh Fink has established himself as one of the leading voices of cutting-edge humor in late night television. During his tenure as a writer for NBC's famed Saturday Night Live (SNL) alongside Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, and Maya Rudolp, Fink not only earned a reputation for his fearless lampooning of pop culture, but also appeared as a commentator on the show's Weekend Update segment. During his final season at SNL, Fink received the Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Program. In 2019, Fink was brought back to SNL as a guest writer to share his expertise with the newer cast members and writers. Fink was creator and executive producer of the irreverent Comedy Central series The Showbiz Show with David Spade. He was creator and executive producer of Nickelodeon's Parental Discretion. Additional writing and producing credits include VH1's Martha Stewart & Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party, NBC's Muppets Christmas: Letter To Santa, ESPN's ESPY Awards, and the Country Music Awards. As a comedian, Fink has made multiple appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, Conan O'Brien, as well as his own half-hour special on Comedy Central. He was also selected to perform at Carnegie Hall with Jon Stewart as part of the Toyota Comedy Festival. In addition, Fink has been part of the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, Canada, as a performer, writer, and producer. Recently, Fink executive produced truTV's Laff Tracks, featuring the best up-and-coming African American comedians. Other recent credits include writer-producer on Netflix's Standup And Away! with Brian Regan, executive produced by Jerry Seinfeld. For the past nine years, Fink has executive produced The Writers Guild Awards, the biggest Awards show in Hollywood right before the Oscars.
