Academic Writing and Critical Reading

Emilie Raymer holds graduate degrees from Johns Hopkins University and the University of Chicago. Her scholarly interests include the development of the modern life sciences, evolutionary theory, the environmental humanities, and the philosophy of science. She worked for the National Academy of Sciences before she began her doctorate. At Harvard, she teaches writing courses on biomedical and environmental ethics, and she serves as the faculty director of the Writing and Public Service Initiative.
