Enterprise technology leaders are responsible for defining the strategy to run, modernize, and transform the enterprise, while partnering with the business to create value. Artificial intelligence (AI), generative AI, and agentic AI are increasing the velocity and complexity of the decisions these leaders must make. This course seeks to prepare current and future technology leaders across industries to develop, manage, and lead technology strategies by gaining perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing enterprises through lectures, class discussions, practical use cases, and projects. An emphasis is placed on cultivating an inquisitive approach and flexible frameworks. Topics from a practitioner's viewpoint include AI agents and AI-based development; cloud modernization and legacy and cloud ecosystems; enterprise data and data management; and the organizational challenges and value-based information technology decisions that come with leading through change.

Prerequisites

Students must have earned a B or higher in CSCI E-178 and CSCI E-188 in order to enroll in this course.

Notes

This course meets via web conference. Students must attend and participate at the scheduled meeting time. See minimum technology requirements. Along with the web-conference meetings, this course also includes an intensive—and mandatory—on-campus residency. Students must be present for the entire on-campus session to earn credit for the course. The course begins via web conference during the first week of the term and continues to meet throughout the term. Please see the syllabus for the specific course meeting dates. Tuition does not include hotel accommodations, transportation, or meals for the on-campus session. International students see important visa information.
