Fundamentals of Academic Writing

Janet Sylvester's books, And Not to Break, The Mark of Flesh, and That Mulberry Wine, have been published by major trade houses and university presses. She is currently working on a new book, Feather and Wedge. Her prize-winning poems have appeared extensively in literary journals and anthologies, including Best American Poetry, the Pushcart Prize anthology, and Poetry Daily. She has held fellowships at MacDowell, Yaddo, and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA). Sylvester is currently teaching expository and creative writing at the Harvard Extension School, Harvard Summer School, and Endicott College. Her other teaching appointments have included Old Dominion University, University of South Carolina, Sweet Briar College, University of Tampa, and Truman State University, where she was recently Ofstad Visiting Writer.
