This course offers an in-depth overview of the management consulting industry and the skills required to succeed within it. Topics include the structure, conduct, and performance of the management consulting industry; firms in the industry and their competitive strategies; ideas, tools, and frameworks that strategy consulting firms have put into practice; problem-solving, communication, interviewing, and client relation skills; and navigating management consulting careers. This is not a traditional lecture-based course. Conceptual material is illustrated and applied to the real world through rigorous class discussion of business cases, examples, group and individual exercises, artificial intelligence (AI) simulations, and students' experiences. The course emphasizes hands-on skills practice and real-time feedback via a live strategy consulting engagement experience.
