Supply Chain Management

Dr. Zal Phiroz is an established global supply chain and operations specialist, having held numerous academic, executive, and senior management roles. In his work at Procter & Gamble (P&G), Phiroz managed international supply chain and operations projects in partnership with Walmart, Target, and Walgreens. Supply chain optimization and supply chain innovation focusing flagship P&G brands (including Iams, Tide, and Folgers) were a hallmark of Phiroz's work. As a founding partner at Pier Consulting Group Inc., Phiroz collaborates directly with medium-large sized corporations, including Fortune clients, on supply chain optimization initiatives. Projects have included projection and forecasting simulation, regression analysis, and segmentation through clustering in quantifying supply chain opportunities and identifying vulnerabilities. Phiroz has earned a PhD in supply chain management from the University of Cape Town, an MBA, and two undergraduate degrees in computer science (BSc with honors and BCS) from the University of Windsor. He is often invited to speak at international industry forums (Opal, the United Nations Association in Canada Toronto Region Branch [UNACTO], ByPi Global, and Intermodal), academic institutions (Windsor and Tulane Universities and the University of Michigan), and conferences as a keynote speaker. Phiroz's latest book entitled Perspectives of Supply Chain Competitiveness-A Handbook was re-released in November 2024.
