This course is an introduction to differential and integral calculus in one variable. The course begins with a study of limits and derivatives, and culminates with the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus as well as some integration techniques. The topics covered overlap with the advanced placement calculus curriculum to an extent, but the course goes much deeper into the material and the reasoning behind the methods. The primary goals of the course are for students to develop conceptual understanding, acquire computational fluency, and gain a sense of the applications of this fundamental material in a variety of disciplines. The course also aims to better develop problem-solving skills rather than simply apply formulas.
