This course provides a rigorous exploration of real estate investment and is designed for both emerging professionals and individuals seeking to enhance their understanding of the field. Students gain a comprehensive knowledge of commercial property types, risk evaluation, financial modeling, and real estate investment strategy. Beginning with an overview of the key drivers in real estate returns, the course examines the economic and legal frameworks that shape property investments. Students acquire practical tools for identifying and analyzing potential investment opportunities. They study advanced financial mechanics, cash flow modeling, and the taxation of real estate assets. Through case studies and applied exercises, students acquire the practical skills necessary to evaluate end-of-holding-period decisions and manage portfolio-level investment strategies. The course also covers critical aspects of capital raising, with a focus on debt financing and equity partnerships. By the end of the course, students have the tools to rigorously analyze real estate investments and make informed decisions in both active and passive investment contexts.
